Hardness Testing

After heat treatment the first indication of having achieved the required mechanical properties is through hardness testing.  Hardness testing is of critical importance and must therefore be performed accurately and with confidence that the result is true.

At Con Mech we have a separate hardness testing section manned by fully trained operatives using the most up to date equipment.  We hardness test using either a Foundrax Model 134 portable Brinell hardness tester or Static Brinell hardness tester.

The resulting indentation is then read off using the Foundrax BRINtronic automatic microscope.  All testing equipment is fully calibrated annually or after repair.
